A University of Virginia professor has decided not to move forward with his lawsuit against the university. Paul Allaire filed "non-suit" and withdrew his $100,000 civil suit Wednesday.
According to the complaint, Allaire filed the suit in response to a police search of his home earlier this year after an employment dispute between Allaire and UVA.
Investigators are looking into whether Allaire used his role as the director of rotating machinery and controls laboratory to cheat his employer out of up to $1 million.
Allaire has not been charged and wants about two dozen items returned that were seized when his home was searched.
