Commonwealth Transportation Board Releases Six-Year Plan Draft

Posted: Updated:

Virginia will budget an extra $4 billion for transportation projects during the next six years.

The Commonwealth Transportation Board (CTB) released its working draft of the state's six-year transportation plan Wednesday, just one day after Gov. Bob McDonnell  signed a new road funding bill into law.

It includes funding for specific improvements in the Shenandoah Valley, like the replacement of the Route 340 bridge near Staunton, and the extension of passenger rail service to Roanoke.
