Fluvanna Supervisors Approve Road Improvement Plan

Fluvanna County's future road plan is coming into focus.  Wednesday the Board of Supervisors approved a six-year improvement program from the Virginia Department of Transportation.

Fluvanna gets six projects in the overall plan, including the final money to construct a roundabout at the intersection of routes 15 and 53.

"Obviously roads are important because they're the backbone of your infrastructure. If you can't get to work you're not going to be able to live here. We want to make sure we work with the commonwealth of Virginia to make sure we have the best plan and make sure those road dollars go where they need to go," said Fluvanna County Supervisor Shaun Kenney.

Under the plan, VDOT will construct turn lanes onto Lake Monticello Road and Milton Road. Two bridges will also get replaced.
