Lotto fever has struck, with people hoping they own Wednesday night's $360 million winning Powerball ticket.
Lottery sales have been brisk Wednesday in Charlottesville, keeping convenience store cash registers ringing.
People in Charlottesville are taking their chances at the big jackpot. They are hoping a little ticket and a lot of luck will bring them millions.
Roy Dunn, a regular customer at Lucky Seven in Charlottesville has high hopes of winning big.
"Most of all I would like to party like hell from dark to sun up every night somewhere away from here in the Caribbean and Florida," Dunn said.
He says he wants to help out his department at the University of Virginia and his family.
"Family comes first, charity begins at home," Dunn said.
Everybody wants a shot at the third-highest jackpot in history.
"Everybody likes to get in on it at this time," said Jeremy Lamb, who works at Lucky Seven.
Stores are buzzing with customers, both new and old. Three friends feeling lucky on the way to girls' night out say it was a sign that brought them in to take a shot at the jackpot.
"We work at the church on Wednesdays and we all had the same color shirt on so we thought that was good karma and a good sign," said one of the three, Judy Pateman.
The group bought three Powerball tickets - the first time any of them have ever played the lottery.
"I want to pay my mortgage first so I own my whole house and then go to a spa and have a good time," said Carol Markoff.
But Wednesday's crowds don't even compare to last November when the jackpot hit nearly $600 million, the highest amount ever.
"You wouldn't be standing here right now because there would be a line out the door," Lamb said.
The winning numbers for Wednesday night are: 2-11-26-34-41 and Powerball 32.
