A mainstay music store is closing its doors later this month. Charlottesville Music is going out of business.
Owner Billy Brockman says a lot of guitarists who learned to play in Charlottesville frequented the store - but ultimately the closing resulted from a host of factors.
"Sites like Craigslist and Ebay, it's just the aggregate of all of those forces. Even globalization, which has pushed down the prices of those products, because they can always make it somewhere cheaper," said Brockman.
There will be a closing party at The Southern on Sunday June 2 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The store officially closes May 31.
