First NAACP/JMRL Scholarship Winner Announced

MEDIA RELEASE

Dr. M. Rick Turner, President of Albemarle-Charlottesville NAACP, and John Halliday, Library Director, are happy to announce that Brandie Quarles of Crozet is the recipient of the first NAACP/JMRL Scholarship.

Ms.  Quarles graduates from Western Albemarle High School this spring and enters the University of Virginia in the fall. The $1000 scholarship, and a paid internship to work in local libraries, is funded by the Friends of JMRL Endowment to encourage diversity within the field of librarianship.
