Women and girls are signing up for a popular Charlottesville springtime fitness regimen.

More than 100 people have already registered for the 20th annual Charlottesville Women's Four Miler Training Program (W4MTP). Organizers hope to reach 1,500 trainees this year.

There are different levels of training with the ultimate goal of getting active and being healthy.

"It became very much a training program which has evolved to obviously support women's health, breast cancer and it all feeds into the end result, which is healthy women, healthy girls," said Pam Whorley, director of the training program.

The training program starts on Saturday, June 15 and runs for 11 weeks. The group will meet every weekend at 7 a.m. at the University of Virginia's Lannigan Field.
