Nine bluegrass bands performed at the "Music of the Piedmont" Bluegrass Festival at Pleasant Grove Park in Fluvanna County Saturday.
The all-day event was hosted by the Piedmont Virginia Fiddle and Banjo Association.
These players hope by sharing their love of bluegrass tunes, other people will join in.
"It's just a thrill you can't describe being with others, the music, the songs, it's just a great feeling when you get together with others and play," said Carl Gibson, president of the association.
The association meets on the first Monday of every month at the Beaverdam Baptist Church in Fluvanna County.
The players are hoping to bring more people into central Virginia's bluegrass community.
