Crews started blasting away rocks Friday at the Meadowcreek Parkway Project. The blasting is at the intersection of the Route 250 Bypass and McIntire Road. Crews are clearing the rocks to install a sewer line.
Those who live nearby have been notified of the blasting. Some neighbors say they don't mind, as long as it helps move the project along.
"I'll be glad when it's over with but I'll be happy because it will be so much better. I know everybody doesn't agree with it but I've been waiting for it and I'll be glad when it's done," said Ruby Amick, who lives nearby.
Crews say the timeline for the blasting is unclear because it happens as they encounter rocks.
