City Council Candidate Fenwick Shows Support for Small Business

Posted: Updated:

Small business owners gathered Tuesday in downtown Charlottesville to support a local Democratic City Council candidate. Bob Fenwick held a news conference to showcase his support for small businesses.

If elected, Fenwick promises to improve the relationship between government and entrepreneurs.

Owner of Great Harvest Bread Company, Matt Monson, says he's impressed by Fenwick's attentiveness and offers a suggestion.

"I would like to see the city provide more of an opportunity for business owners to get together. There is such a wealth of opportunity we can share with each other," said Monson.

"I don't think people realize with the revenue from the federal government and state government being pinched these businesses are going to be under a lot more pressure to succeed," said Fenwick.

Fenwick is one of five candidates for City Council.

The Democratic primary is June 11.
