Broken Water Line Repaired in Staunton

Posted: Updated:

Early morning repairs to a busted water line valve are finished in Staunton.

A valve burst on a corporate line off the water main under Greenville Avenue at Driscoll Street around 2:30 a.m. Monday. Public works crews were on the scene more than seven hours.

The city periodically shut off water to businesses served by the main for about 30 minutes at a time.

That work, and a Columbia Gas project nearby, dropped Greenville Avenue down to one lane in each direction through mid-morning.
