Fluvanna County High School's team, The Rainbow Gang, is one step closer to going to the Destination Imagination national tournament in Knoxville, Tennessee.
On Saturday, the creative problem solving team sold ice cream at the Fine Arts Festival to raise the last $700 needed to go to the tournament.
The students say the community has been incredibly supportive in helping them reach their goal of $3,500.
"It's really nice to know that our community cares about us and we care about everybody else too so it's really inspiring," said Rainbow Gang team member Morgan Baker.
The Rainbow Gang came in second place at the state competition for its creative problem solving project.
The students raised money for teachers through a duct tape fundraiser, where students could duct tape teachers, even Superintendent Gena Keller, to a wall for a dollar.
