A Charlottesville parking lot turned into an outdoor party and barbecue Saturday afternoon. Dozens of people came out to the South First Street community for the third annual Spring Fling Community Day.

The event featured music, food, and fun for the neighborhood.

The Spring Fling was hosted by "H.Y.P.E." - also known as "Helping Young People Evolve."

"This is a neighborhood that really doesn't get a lot to have going on here and it's just an opportunity and our way of giving back showing that we really truly care about the community, just again a day of fun for everyone," Wes Bellamy, event organizer and director of H.Y.P.E., said.
