A Scottsville group is
preparing for a day full of hearty, homemade chili.
James River Runners is
holding its 32nd Annual Chili Cook-off Saturday. They have some new activities this
year, including a brewer's challenge, carnival games and a moon bounce.
Fifteen teams will be
cooking chili. That number has grown over the years.
"I think they started with
two or three cooking teams and it just grew from there. And they were always supporting their local
rescue squad and volunteers and, so it's just grown. Thirty-two years of
supporting our community and that's what it's all about," said Paige Wilkes,
owner of James River Runners.
