Henry’s Restaurant to Close after Decades in Charlottesville
After more than 30 years in business, Henry's Restaurant on the downtown mall will soon be closing its doors.
It's going to be a bittersweet day for employees and customers when Henry's Restaurant shuts its doors for good this weekend. Henry and Debbie Hackett have been in the restaurant business in Charlottesville for more than 30 years.
With locations all over the city, the downtown mall has been the restaurant's home for the last 11 years. The Hacketts say they will miss all of the loyal customers and friends that have visited the restaurant over the years.
"We've been here for 31 years we've made a lot of friends we got a lot of loyal customers. It's going to be different but I'm getting close to retirement and it comes a time where you need to quit," Henry Hackett said.
The Hacketts say they are looking forward to traveling and spending time with their grandchildren once the restaurant is closed.
A new restaurant, The Taste of India, will be taking over the space in August.
The restaurant's last day will be this Saturday. It will have regular business hours that day and will be open from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m.
