Ex-Culpeper Police Officer Sentenced to 36 Months for Fatal Shooting

A former Culpeper police officer who fatally shot an unarmed woman will spend 36 months in prison.

Harmon-Wright was responding to a report of a suspicious vehicle in a church parking lot when he shot and killed Patricia Ann Cook, 54, in February 2012. A jury convicted Daniel Harmon-Wright for manslaughter and unlawful shooting.

The judge also imposed a three-year probation post-release and a requirement to be on good behavior for 10 years.
