Council Candidate Bellamy Holds Second Town Hall Meeting

Posted: Updated:

One man looking for a seat on Charlottesville City Council took his message to the masses.

Wes Bellamy held his second town hall meeting at the Regional Library on Market Street. Bellamy talked to the audience about the current state of education in city schools. Bellamy detailed his plan to "move the city forward."

"The city is actually having to pick up more of that tab and I actually think it's a good thing but I would like to see those funds allocated a little bit more toward our pre-K and 4-year-old programs. I really firmly believe if we can be helping our kids right now that adding additional support, we will really see a larger impact on our kids," Bellamy said.

Bellamy is running as a Democratic candidate. Five Democrats and two Republicans are running for the two open seats on council this November.
