Annual Charlottesville Community Job Fair Held at JPJ

Posted: Updated:

Hundreds of job seekers were on hand at John Paul Jones Arena Wednesday for the annual Charlottesville Community Job Fair.

Nearly 100 employers were there to connect people with employment opportunities throughout central Virginia, including some of Charlottesville's largest employers.

People who have been looking for work for months say the job fair helped boost their confidence.

"Yes it is, people are actually starting to hire or at least talk about doing that now and that's something that wasn't really happening much a couple of years ago, so the more of these that you see out there, it's kind of uplifting," said Rodney Cook, job seeker.

Organizers say the Charlottesville Community Job Fair is the largest of its kind in central Virginia.
