A group of 10 people from Charlottesville is traveling to Winneba, Ghana Monday on a mission to strengthen sister city relations. The group will spend almost a week in Winneba where they plan to meet with the U.S. ambassador.
"We are bringing a representative from the public library. Our local library and the library in Winneba will be working together to build a new library there," said vice mayor of Charlottesville Kristin Szakos.
This is third sister city delegation from Charlottesville to head to Africa.
The group will also work to establish a West African artist in residence program for Charlottesville.
