Still from 'The Problem with Route 29' documentary
It seems like everybody has an opinion about Route 29. Friday, a documentary will be screened that focuses on the variety of issues the road faces.
Ryan Yowell, a fourth-year University of Virginia student, created the documentary for his senior project. He says a lot of research went into making "The Problem with Route 29." He interviewed Charlottesville politicians, civic leaders and drivers with a focus on how the corridor affects the community.
"People who care a lot about the environment, people who are very pro-business people, sociologists and people who study American studies and all of these different interpretations of the landscape really sort of mold together and form a really interesting conversation," said Yowell.
The film will start at 6 p.m. in the Javor Lecture Hall in Old Campbell Hall at UVA.
