Man Sought For Abduction and Assault

Culpeper police are looking for a 28-year-old man suspected of abducting and assaulting his girlfriend last night during a domestic argument at the couple's home.

Police have arrest warrants charging Gilberto Dominguez-Jaimes with felony abduction and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. Warrants are also on file charging him with misdemeanor assault and battery of a family member, brandishing a firearm and preventing the victim from using the telephone to call for help.

Officer Tony Caruso responded to the domestic call in the 400 block of Wayland Road about 7:45 p.m.

The 25-year-old victim told police that Dominguez-Jaimes began arguing with her while she was preparing dinner. The argument allegedly turned violent. The suspect allegedly pulled a handgun and struck the victim in the head.

The victim was able to break free momentarily and tried to use the phone to call police. He allegedly grabbed the phone from her.

She told police that the fight continued until she was able to flee.

Dominguez-Jaimes drove away in a Volkswagen Passat. He has not been seen since.

The victim was taken to Culpeper Regional Hospital, where she was treated for cuts to her head, lip, arm and hand.

Anyone with information as to the whereabouts of Dominguez-Jaimes should call 911 or anonymously call Crime Solvers at 727-0300.
