Former Culpeper School Employees Charged with Assault of Child on Bus

FORMER SCHOOL EMPLOYEES ARRESTED FOR ASSAULTING SPECIAL NEEDS CHILD
For Immediate Release The Culpeper County Sheriff's Office has arrested two former Culpeper County Public School Employees for an incident that occurred on February 20, 2013.
Linda Rastall, 50, a former teacher's aide, and Betty Turner, 56, a former bus aide, were arrested on April 22 for an incident involving a 5 year old autistic boy on a school bus.
The incident took place after school and while the bus was taking children home for the day. The child was upset over a toy that had been taken away from him earlier and was crying. Rastall and Turner physically and verbally assaulted the child in an attempt to control him causing injury.
Rastall and Turner were each charged with assault and battery, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor, both misdemeanors. They were released on bond pending a May 8 appearance in the Culpeper Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court.
