Patients at the University of Virginia Children's Hospital received special gifts Tuesday thanks to the help of volunteers.

Doctors, nurses and other UVA employees stuffed and delivered teddy bears to children. Volunteers named the bears and even designed birth certificates for each one.

Those who took part say it's the least they can do to put a smile on a patient's face.

"Just to make their stay a little more comfortable and give them something that they can grab hold to when they are scared or uneasy, because we know the hospital causes lots of anxiety for adults, so I can only imagine as a child being here and being around things that you're not sure what they are," said Angela Taylor, on the marketing team for the UVA Medical Center.

Around 150 bears will be delivered to patients throughout the year.
