Charlottesville police say they are close to an arrest after a hit-and-run Monday night.

It happened just before 9 p.m. on the 1800 block of Barracks Road - not far from the Rugby Road split.   Police say a driver intentionally hit a 50-year-old woman in a driveway, before fleeing the scene.

The victim is expected to recover. Police say they know the identity of the driver, and an arrest is pending.
