NC State Clinches Softball Series Over UVA

The Virginia Softball team dropped both games of a doubleheader Saturday against North Carolina State losing Game One 10-1 and Game Two 10-0 in six innings.

The Cavaliers are now 18-24 overall and 3-14 in the ACC.

The 'Hoos solo run came in the 5th inning of the first game when junior Karli Johnson hit an RBI single that plated Lauren Didlake.

Senior Pitcher Melanie Mitchell worked for five innings.

Mitchell struck out seven batters and allowed five runs.

In the second game, two Wahoo errors led to four Wolfpack runs in the fifth inning, and Scout Albertson hit a grand slam in the sixth to lead NC State over Virginia 10-0.

UVA and NC State conclude their series on Sunday at The Park with first pitch scheduled at noon.
