The Virginia men's lacrosse team improves to 6-7 as they snapped their six game losing streak with a 12-7 triumph over Bellarmine on senior day at Klockner Stadium.

The six losses in a row matched the most in a season single losing all eight games back in 1939.

UVA Goalie, Rhody Heller said, "We were on a six game losing streak. I think that was maybe the worst in Virginia lacrosse history, I'm not sure. It just feels awesome. Nobody likes to lose especially the Virginia lacrosse program so to finally get that win you feel a little bit more easy going and gets some tension off your shoulders."

UVA Senior attacker Matt White added, "Its been a really, really great four years here for us and I can't describe the brotherhood and camaraderie that you have with your classmates on this team and he whole team. Its just really great that we were able to come out here and get a win on senior day."

The Knights got as close as two goals when Cameron Gardner scored with 13:36 in the final stanza, but UVA reeled off four goals in a row to ice their 12-7 victory.

The 'Hoos were led by Mark Cockerton who put away 4 goals while Rob Emery added three tallies of his own.

Dom Starsia said, "It kind of shakes you to your core a little bit. You have to sorta remind yourself about what's important and how you go about your business and focus on that. We've been doing that the last couple of weeks but at the same time you know hallelujah to get a win."

Virginia returns to action on Friday in the semifinal round of the ACC Championship. The #4 seeded Cavaliers will face the top-seeded Maryland Terrapins at 5 p.m., at North Carolina's Kenan Stadium.
