Eating chocolate and viewing art went hand in hand at Piedmont Virginia Community College's Chocolate Chowdown.
The popular Charlottesville exhibition features works of art by students at PVCC. The work is selected by faculty members and showcased in the halls of the student gallery.
Friday night, 500 patrons will receive a special treat.
"It's a very intense experience. People look forward to it all year and they come with high expectations of chocolate excellence and art excellence," said Beryl Solla, chair of the PVCC art department.
The exhibit will be open through August. The Friday night kickoff goes until 7 p.m. in the PVCC Gallery.
