Blue Ridge Community College hosted its annual Career Expo Thursday afternoon.
More than 46 vendors were there, representing industries from healthcare to advanced manufacturing.
Organizers say the goal is to connect students with opportunities close to home.
"We want our talent to stay here in the valley. We don't want them to flee and take their skills somewhere else. So we want them to know that there are jobs, good jobs here in the valley. And we also want our employers to know that our students are stellar and that they need to come and recruit from Blue Ridge Community College because this is a place to find the skills that you're looking for," said Jenny Harvey, a career coordinator at BRCC.
The expo also offered a resume clinic and free professional head shots to BRCC students.
