The commonwealth has rested its case against the man accused of shooting another man in the neck during a road-rage dispute.
Rudolph Dean Junior, 47, is charged with aggravated wounding. Prosecutors say Dean shot Robert Crawford IV after following him to his house in January of last year.
The defense says Dean acted in self-defense after Crawford attacked him with a steel baton, but an investigator Wednesday said that claim didn't come until three days after the shooting.
A verdict could come as early as Thursday.
Gov. McDonnell announced that his FY 2015/2016 budget will include $183.1 million over the biennium in new support of VA's colleges and universities.
