Dozens of people came out to voice concerns about plans for a five-story apartment complex in Charlottesville on Wednesday. It was a packed house inside City Hall - with more than 50 neighbors speaking up about traffic concerns.
The proposed complex would sit next to the Meadowbrook Shopping Center at the intersection of Barracks Road and Emmett Street.
"Our primary concern is that the intersection there at Meadowbrook, Barracks Road and Emmett Street is already classified based on a traffic study that was done in 2008 is a category 'F,' meaning completely unsatisfactory with respect to delays and congestion potential there," said Ed Gibson, who lives near the proposed complex.
There will be a second chance for the public to speak up May 14 at the Charlottesville's Planning Commission meeting.
