Albemarle Police Arrest Man Accused of Rape, Abduction

UPDATE 06/03/2013:  An Albemarle County grand jury indicted Henry Lee Jasper on rape and abduction charges.  There is no word on a trial date.

Officers with the Albemarle County Police Department arrested an individual involved in a rape on Sunday afternoon.

Henry Lee Jasper was charged with forcible rape and abduction.  Jasper, 32-years-old from Louisa County, is being held at the Albemarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail without bond.

The incident took place around 3 p.m. in the 1600 block of 5th Street.  The victim did not know the suspect and was able to escape her attacker and call police.  Jasper was arrested in the area shortly after the incident.

At this point, the investigation is still on-going.
