A building blitz gave eight homes in Charlottesville much-needed makeovers Saturday.
Volunteers from the Building Goodness Foundation and UVA's Darden Business School rolled up their sleeves and worked the day away for the annual Building Goodness in April event.
The group of 250 students worked alongside professional builders to fix up the homes.
"We often see like a leaky roof, or times where maybe a back deck has rooted away so they don't have a back exit to the house anymore so really core aspects to their home that at for rather their elderly or disabled or have fallen on hard times can't make those updates," said Brian Gooch, director of the Building Goodness Foundation.
The teams also fixed up the Payton Street playground in Charlottesville.
