Press Release

James Brown didn't know he had a $100,000 winning ticket in his possession. The first inkling the Waynesboro man had was when he received a call from his daughter, saying a winning ticket had been bought at Royal Mart, 501 Rife Road East Avenue in Waynesboro. That's the store where he had recently bought a ticket.

When he checked on the Lottery's website,www.valottery.com, he discovered he had that winning ticket!

Mr. Brown matched all five numbers in the March 22 Cash 5 day drawing to win the game's top prize.

"Indescribable," was his reply when asked by Lottery officials how it felt to win.

The winning numbers for that drawing were 3-8-24-26-32. Mr. Brown selected his numbers using family ages and birthdays.

He said he had no immediate plans for his winnings.

Cash 5 drawings are held daily at 1:59 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. The chances of winning the $100,000 top prize are 1 in 278,256.
