2nd Annual Locked-In Event Held at CitySpace

Posted: Updated:

Children throughout the Charlottesville area came together Sunday to learn ways to live a healthy, meaningful life.

The 2nd Annual "Getting Locked In" event - held at Charlottesville's CitySpace - was designed for children to focus on their character, making good choices and explore their own creativity.

Event organizer -  educator, entertainer and motivator Alex-Zan - says that kids often have the perception that great and successful people live elsewhere, without realizing there are people like that right here at home.

"People constantly think that there's people they live in California, they're from Florida, they're from New York, that they're not from right here in Charlottesville and I've really compiled a list of people, great people, of all races right here in Charlottesville that are making an impact throughout the world," Zan said.

Zan brought a number of inspiring people from the Charlottesville area together for the event. From students in the National Honors Society, to a local inspirational dancer, the children were able to see that success and creativity lives in Charlottesville - not just New York and California.
