No Bond for Man Who Allegedly Posted Fake Craigslist Ads of Ex-Girlfriend

Posted: Updated:

A man who works for the Library of Congress will stay locked up while he waits to go to trial for allegedly posting fake sex ads on Craigslist targeting an ex-girlfriend.

Kenneth Kuban, 61, of Culpeper County faced a judge in federal court Friday afternoon for a detention hearing. The judge ruled he would continue to be held without bond.

Kuban was charged in March with stalking a woman he dated for about four months in 2011.  He is facing federal charges. Authorities say he posted the ads from his work computer.

The victim took the stand at Friday's hearing. She told the court that she believes more than 50 ads were posted between January 2, 2013 and March 19, 2013. She says the ads directed more than 100 men to her home with the promise of sex or to buy pornographic videos.

Authorities say some of the men refused to leave until she called police, and others even broke through a security gate she installed.
