Charlottesville's deputy commonwealth's attorney will soon be a judge.

Prosecutor Claude Worrell will be the new juvenile and domestic relations judge starting July 1. He is taking over for Dwight Johnson, who retired in January.

In a statement to NBC29, Worrell says he is "pleased to have the opportunity to continue to serve the community in specific and the 16th circuit in general."
