UVa Blue-Orange Football Scrimmage Set for Saturday

Posted: Updated:

The UVa football team will play its annual spring game on Saturday at 1 o'clock.    Fan Fest starts at 11:30am.    It is free and open to the public.

A lot of eyes will be on the quarterbacks and wide receivers Saturday.  Both units have lots to prove this upcoming season.  The guys will play four quarters on Saturday but no kick returns.

It'll be a great chance for folks to see how far the team has come during the three-week spring practice period, but Mike London says don't expect the team to open up the playbook.

London says, "Very, very vanilla. I understand its going to be on ESPN and we always welcome the opportunity to have that type of TV coverage and bring it to the University of Virginia, but we also understand that we are going to practice to try and get ourselves better. I know there's an entertainment value and all those things but we still are trying to get ourselves in a position at the end of the week that we can evaluate our players and say this is who is going to be first team, second team or whatever."
