Staunton Superintendent Talks School Budget with Council

The superintendent for Staunton Public Schools broke down the budget for City Council on Thursday. 

It includes a 3 percent raise for all employees, some bigger class sizes and a decrease in staff through attrition. 

Superintendent Linda Reviea voiced her concern for next year's budget with an expected increase in health costs and Virginia Retirement System needs, as well as the fact that the governor's contribution for pay raises was a one-time commitment. 

City Council expressed its dedication to the schools.
