Posted: Updated:

The man police say was at the heart of a car chase that ended with an injured officer went before a judge Thursday.  Marcell Turner, 25, is making his court rounds.

By the end of the day Thursday, Turner will go before three different judges - first for Wednesday's police chase and then for outstanding drug charges. Turner is facing 12 charges in Charlottesville and one drug charge in Albemarle County.

Police arrested Turner Wednesday afternoon following a brief car chase that ended on Meridian Street. Police say he rammed two unmarked police cars and injured an officer.

Turner has been charged with eluding police, hit-and-run and malicious wounding.

A Charlottesville General District Court judge denied Turner bond Thursday morning. NBC29 also learned that Turner served time two years ago for a drug conviction.

Turner is currently being held at the Charlottesville Albemarle Regional Jail and will have a hearing on May 9.
