Trial for Former Boy Scout Leader Postponed Until June

Posted: Updated:

The trial of a former Albemarle County Boy Scouts leader facing a child sex crime charge has been postponed.  David Watkins will now be arraigned on one count of sodomy with someone under the age of 13 in June.

Investigators say the incident happened in 2005 with a victim under the age of 13 and involved both oral and anal sex. Watkins led a Boy Scouts troop in Keswick from 2002 to 2008. Authorities say the scout is now an adult.

His trial was initially scheduled for Tuesday.

Watkins is currently being held at Albemarle - Charlottesville Regional Jail without bond.
