Virginia had 9 hits but left 13 runners stranded.

Nick Howard had a rough start for the 'Hoos on the mound. He was tagged with a loss and gave up four earned runs, five hits and three walks over 4 1/3 innings.

The Cavalier bull-pen came out guns blazing going 4 2/3 shutout innings and allowing just one base runner.

The 'Hoos have a quick turn around. They hit the road to take on Liberty Tuesday at 6 PM.
