#5 UVA Clinches Miami's Series; Betters Canes 8-1 Saturday

Four Virginia Pitchers only allowed the Miami Hurricanes to have four hits as the #5 UVA Baseball team pounded the Hurricanes 8-1 at Davenport Field in Charlottesville.

Virginia Starting Pitcher, Scott Silverstein, matched a career high 9 strikeouts as he worked 6 2/3 innings for the Cavaliers.

The 'Hoos finished with 11 hits - five of which came in the four-run eighth inning to open up the game.

Reed Gragnani, Nate Irving, and Kenny Towns each recorded a pair of hits while Gragnani drove in three runs and has an impressive seven RBI in the series.

The final game of the series has been moved from 1 p.m. to noon Sunday at Davenport Field.
