UVA Baseball Trumps Towson 7-1

The UVa Baseball team beat Towson 7-1 Wednesday at Davenport Field.

The 'Hoos sent 10 batters to the plate in the third inning and scored five runs to give Virginia an early lead.

Towson got their only run in the fifth inning, while Virginia got two insurance runs in the sixth inning thanks to two RBI doubles off the bats of Derek Fisher and Mike Papi.

Trey Oest worked 4 2/3 innings for Virginia and struck out four batters.    Virginia improved to 23-2 with the win.

The Cavs return to action Friday at 6 PM when they host Miami at Davenport field.
