Dave Matthews Band Will Donate to ‘Build Crozet Library’

Posted: Updated:

The Dave Matthews Band is offering six figures to help buy books for the new Crozet Library.

The band's Bama Works fund will give the Build Crozet Library fundraising group a $100,000 grant to stock the shelves. The new library's collection will more than double - from 32,000 to 75,000 items.

Bama Works will pay out the money over three years. It requires community donors match the grant.

"It might have been nice had the county been in a position to fully fund the library. But, one of the things that is absolutely heartwarming has been the community support - from the very smallest donations to large matching grants like Bama Works and the Dave Matthews Band," said Jefferson Madison Regional Library trustee Jane Kulow.

The library group is accepting donations to help match the grant immediately. Click here to donate.

The new Crozet Library is expected to open in late august.
