JMU Advances To WNIT Sweet Sixteen

The James Madison women's basketball team advanced to the third round of the WNIT with a 72-66 win against NC State Sunday in Harrisonburg.

JMU will host Fordham in the Sweet Sixteen Wednesday at 7 pm.

Senior Tarik Hislop led James Madison with a game-high 19 points in the victory against the Wolfpack.

Junior Kirby Burkholder had 14 points and nine rebounds.

The Dukes used an 18-4 run in the 2nd half to turn a 43-42 deficit into a 60-47 advantage with 3:32 remaining.

JMU (24-10) has won at least 24 games for the eighth year in a row.
