Children in Albemarle County got to make art masterpieces Saturday with a unique material - pop tabs.

Dozens of kids created pop art at the Bounce-N-Play in the Seminole Square Shopping Center. Their pieces will be entered into the second pop art contest at Charlottesville's Ronald McDonald House.

The nonprofit says it's great to see projects by children helping other children.

"Pop tabs have traditionally been associated with Ronald McDonald houses as a fundraiser," said Candace Schoner, Pop Art chair. "But what we do is we recycle the pop tabs at the house and we get 25 cents, 30 cents per pound. Last year, we thought let's do something a little more creative to raise funds for the house and we came up with the pop art contest."

The deadline to enter art is April 20.
