WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (AP) - The College of William and Mary is buying a hotel near campus for use as student housing and parking.
The Richmond Times-Dispatch reports that college President Taylor Reveley announced the purchase of the 318-room Williamsburg Hospitality House on Friday. The sales price was not disclosed.
Reveley said the building will continue to be used as a hotel through commencement but will be ready to house students by the fall semester.
The Hospitality House, owned by the Texas-based 1859 Historic Hotels chain, is across the street from Zable Stadium and the Alumni House. It is two blocks from Merchant Square and Williamsburg's historic section.
