JMU Women Win WNIT Opener

The James Madison women's basketball team beat North Carolina A&T 77-64 in the opening round of the WNIT Tournament Thursday in Harrisonburg.

The Dukes trailed by as many as 13 points, but outscored the Aggies 30-8 over the final 12:29 in the come-from-behind win.

Kirby Burkholder led JMU with 22 points and 14 rebounds, while Angela Mickens had 10 points, five rebounds, and five steals.

James Madison will host North Carolina State in the second round of the tournament Sunday at 2pm.
