A University of Virginia football five-star recruit arrested while visiting Charlottesville had his case continued for a year on Friday.
Taquan Mizzell, 19, is ranked one of the top running backs in the country.
He was arrested January 20 and charged with unlawful purchase or possession of alcohol after police saw him walking in the middle of Fourteenth Street around 2:30 a.m. attempting to kick a car as it drove past.
The continuance is labeled a deferred disposition, which means the case could be dismissed in the future if Mizzell follows the court's instructions and has no other problems with the law.
