Police Investigate Suspicious Package At Fashion Square

Albemarle County police were at Fashion Square Mall Wednesday morning investigating a suspicious package.

Police say an abandoned lunch box was found in the J.C. Penney parking lot. Investigators closed off a portion of the lot as a precaution.

Police do not believe the package posed a serious threat to the community. The package turned out to be simply someone's lunch.

The parking lot was back open by noon. The mall remained open for business.
